Welcome!

We are a community-in-the-making of Erlang professionals and enthusiasts in the Montreal area with interest in this great technology and related topics. We have a mailing list hosted with Google and we (try to) have (hopefully regular) meetings around relevant topics such as Erlang, functional programming, fault-tolerance, concurrency and programming paradigms. We strive to be a welcoming community for all stake-holders including non-erlangers, non-programmers and just plain nosy people ;)

First Meeting Audio Available

1 November 2011

The first meeting was anything but smooth! We had to face some hurdles finding the venue, agreeing on a date/time, finding recording equipment, ...etc. It gets even better; we get to the venue and discover that the overhead projector was misplaced/stolen on the previous week day! Luckily, Dominique Boucher, our first speaker, saved the day and rushed to his office to get one.

We also had another hero, François Pinard, who recorded the talk (voice) as we couldn't find a video camera and the audio recording setup that I had didn't fit the bill. He even edited the audio running it through various filters to enhance the quality. The audio file is attached. Many thanks, François!

You will notice that the audio will not suffice when a screencast would have been more appropriate to Dominique's demos. However, we had technical limitations and we decided to release the audio nonetheless for the technical posterity.

Dominique made the talk slides available on SlideShare.
